Clinical Case: High-Volume Vagus Nerve Hydrodissection for Gastroparesis
High-volume vagus nerve hydrodissection was performed using 20 mL of dextrose, peptides, and exosomes to address severe gastroparesis and malnutrition potentially related to autonomic dysfunction.
The patient previously responded well to stellate ganglion blocks; this adjunctive injection aims to modulate parasympathetic tone and support the brain–gut axis in hopes of improving gastrointestinal function.
This approach is exploratory and informed by prior case reports of vagus nerve hydrodissection for chronic pain and dysautonomia. We continue to study this critical conduit of information between the body and brain.
